A storm blew into Seattle so I went out in search of dramatic skies to photograph. Alki Beach in West Seattle looks out over the Puget Sound and the setting sun. I choose this area as my target zone. To the South I could see a gigantic Cumulus cloud that was catching the warm glow of the setting sun. I raced to that side of the peninsula but the view was obstructed.  So I raved back to where I was. 

The Seattle skyline is also amazing from this vantage point, but it wasn't on this night, so I raced back to where I originally started, but there was still nothing there. Disheartened I slowly drove back to the skyline viewpoint when the clouds opened up and the colors of the setting sun shined through. I pulled over and snapped this beautiful shot.
